Other Interests

Music is a major part of my life. I have sung in the school choir, and performed in various productions, including operas and school productions. I play the piano and guitar, and like to compose my own music on both. In high school I was pianist for the John XXIII Jazz Ensemble, performing at various competitions and community events. Currently, as part of the UWA Computer Music Research Group, I am helping to start a "Western Australian chapter" of the Australian Computer Music Association.

For my hobbies I enjoy reading fiction, playing chess, dancing, and writing/recording songs.

Sporting-wise, I have played for clubs and represented the school in hockey, basketball, soccer and tennis. In UWA competitions I have played soccer, volleyball and hockey. I also enjoy beach volleyball, squash, table tennis and pool. Also, I have attained the level of yellow belt (grandmaster) in Ninjukai Taijutsu. I keep very active and work out at the UWA Fitness Centre at least twice a week. I love the beach, and bodysurf whenever I can.
