Space Cadet

Sometimes I think that you’re not listening to me
Sometimes I know you just can’t see what’s around you
You’re in your own world now
Didn’t add much to this one anyway

Astral travelling,
You go astral travelling

Sometimes you ask these mundane questions
Answer yourself if you’d thought it through
But that would require effort
Much rather play the fool

And where you are, I just can’t follow
I wouldn’t want to and that’s not my sorrow
Understand what I just said?
You’re a space cadet

Hang yourself on people like a piece of jewellery
An ornament to be seen not heard
No part in all that’s happening
Pretend to be as free as a bird

And where you are, I just can’t follow
I wouldn’t want to and that’s not my sorrow
Concentration gone and fled?
You’re virtually brain dead

Some day they’ll find a nomad
Drifting through the astral plane
Wonder if you’ll remember to say hello
Think I might be insane –
Maybe this song’s been in vain.
